This weekend, dozens of vintage campers and camping enthusiasts will descend on Lodi, California to take part in one of the fastest growing vintage trailer meetups on the West Coast – Trailerfest 2015.
The annual event has grown from less than 20 friends gathering during Towerfest in 2011 to a massive gathering that is expected to draw more than 250 trailers in 2015. Celebrating its fifth year, organizers have set a ‘50s theme in recognition of the milestone. Planned to run from Oct. 9-11 at the Towerpark Delta KOA off Highway 12 in Lodi, events start Friday evening with a vintage hors d’oeuvres reception with guests asked to bring 1950s-inspired finger foods to share. A live band will also play, providing plenty of fun entertainment into the evening.
Saturday is chock full of events, starting with a pancake breakfast, followed by an afternoon open house and yard sale that’s open to the public. Classic car owners, vintage boats and bicycles are also invited along for a cruise-in, with vendors also invited to offer treats and wares throughout the day. Rounding out the evening is an apple pie evening dessert soiree paired with a talent show competition for campers.
On Sunday, a morning breakfast provides a chance for everyone to get together one last time to mingle and say goodbye to friends – new and old alike – before taking off for home. For campers planning to stick around longer, a potluck dinner is planned for remaining guests.
The event is already sold out for 2015, but the public is welcome from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon to take part in the fun and check out some of these classic gems at the park. The event is open to any campers made prior to 1975, and organizers are expecting to see some great classics at this year’s event.

Registration for the 2016 event will open Jan. 1, 2016, so make sure to keep the site bookmarked to reserve your spot early for next year’s event.
